While there are many options for making prints from slides these days, I prefer the state-of-the-art printing that the Lightjet 5000 and Fuji Crystal Archive papers provide. For pictures up to 16X24, my slides are scanned at high resolution on a Nikon Coolscan LS-4000 scanner. I then clean up the digital image file, restoring any color, contrast or sharpness that was lost in the scan. The digital files are sent to my photo lab and printed on the Lightjet.
The LightJet is considered by many to be the finest quality photographic digital printer available today. Originally designed for the military to produce high definition satellite imaging, this "top secret" technology is now available to the public. LightJet laser printers use 3 lasers (RGB) to expose photographic materials such as Fuji Crystal Archive color c-print paper. The Lightjet exhibits amazing edge to edge quality and produces a true continuous tone photographic print. Because the image is in digital form, there is almost unlimited control over the color, contrast and density which makes LightJet digital laser prints far superior to traditional photographic printing.
The 35mm film format is a 2X3 format and most standard print sizes do not match this proportion. Full frame print sizes are, 8 X 12 inches, 12 X 18 inches, and 16 X 24 inches and so on. If you prefer,however, I can crop my pictures to match up with standard frame sizes.

There are many options to decide upon when ordering a fine art print.Should the matte be single, double, white or color? Frame types and frame colors are another consideration.
